As each year slowly comes to an end, there is always the annual excitement for the New Year's Eve holiday. New Year's Eve is one of the most highly attended holidays, since it is one day of the year when everyone can stay out late and sleep in the next day. With all the partying until the wee hours of the morning, people have taken it upon themselves to throw their very own New Year's Eve extravaganzas.

New Year's Eve is not just any old party. It gets most of its fame from the glamorous decorations consisting of glitter and sparkles that light up every room. Party decorations are a necessity to make any New Year's Eve event shine.

Balloons usually fill every party room, completing the centerpieces at each table. In most cases, balloons are found in bouquets and consist of elegant colors such as gold, silver or black. Latex variations are also available with Happy New Year lettering, and most packages come in packs of 50 or more for only $12.

Another one of the many popular New Year's Eve decorations is the balloon drop. Kits can be purchased at most party decorations stores from $12-$15 and include 50-70 balloons, an inflater and a bag to hold the inflatables against the ceiling. The balloon drop is a signature trademark of New Year's Eve celebrations.

Confetti is a necessary item on the list of New Year's Eve decorations. Found at almost every party decorations supply store, the glittering paper pieces come in different sizes and colors such as blue, gold or red. Depending on the theme of the party, it can be matched to make a table sparkly and eye-catching. In addition to colors, confetti is made with sayings such as Happy New Year or the specific year. Confetti comes in packages of 100+ and costs no more than $5.

The garland hanging from the walls and ceiling is important at every New Year's Eve event. The festoons come in any color of choice, and the lengths can either be short or long. Most garland features writing such as Happy New Year, the year being celebrated, or different shapes like stars or swirls. Garland party decorations are found at most party stores and cost anywhere from $2 to $6, depending on the style and size.

The most important of all New Year's Eve decorations are the favors. These consist of all the fun items that set New Year's Eve apart from other holidays. Such well-known examples are party hats, tiaras, leis, clappers horns and noisemakers. When the clock strikes 12, the favors are put to use with everyone blowing the horns, twirling the noisemakers, and wearing the party hats and tiaras. Most favors can be purchased in packages from $25-$85, depending on the amount and the style chosen.

All in all, New Year's Eve would not be the same without extravagant party decorations. When planning a New Year's Eve celebration, it is important to have decor as a number one priority. Due to the embellished and exceptional decorations, New Year's Eve becomes an unforgettable night for everyone.
